MEET THE TEAM

Dr. Sarah Musleh

MD, Endocrinologist
As co-founder of Anzara Health, I am passionate and devoted to building an ongoing relationship with you as my patient and to providing compassionate and consistent care of the highest quality. My approach is evidence-based, guideline-oriented, and always driven by equal parts discipline, attention to detail, and empathy.

You’ll work with me to discuss and treat obesity/weight gain, metabolic dysfunction, thyroid disorders, PCOS, pre-diabetes, and diabetes. I also manage a range of other endocrine conditions. I believe a healthy lifestyle and diet are integral parts of treating all these conditions successfully and achieving good health overall. Utilizing a holistic approach, we are more likely to optimize your health and maintain desired results.

I have a special interest in women's health, including hormone replacement therapy and preventative care. I work collaboratively with my team members to optimize patient nutrition and lifestyle, focusing on sleep, stress management, exercise, supplements, and diet.

My medical training includes completing a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism studies at New York University and attending medical school at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. I have also worked as a clinical endocrinologist at Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii.

Speaking four languages (English, Spanish, Arabic, and French) allows me to interact with people of different backgrounds and consider your various needs and values as they pertain to your health. This gives me a unique approach to working with patients that allows me to balance your beliefs and cultural expectations with a science-based approach that offers you a healthcare plan that meets all your needs.

Dr. Ana Maria Kausel

MD, Endocrinologist
Medicine is an art that truly begins at the “bedside.” Having experienced several serious endocrine and metabolic issues myself, I understand that endocrine disorders affect every aspect of one’s life and need to be treated holistically.

After completing medical school in Colombia, where I was born and raised, I moved to the United States to advance my medical career and further specialize, ultimately settling in New York City. I am fluent in both Spanish and English. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowships in Geriatrics and Endocrinology, and I have been a board-certified Endocrinologist since 2015. I then owned a private practice in New York City for several years, where I reinforced and grew my passion for studying and treating obesity, diabetes, and metabolic diseases.

In 2022, I relocated to Miami and faced health challenges as a woman in pre-menopause. These challenges left me feeling neglected and lonely, prompting me to refocus my practice on women’s health. I now dedicate my work to ensuring that women feel cared for and heard, particularly during the often-overlooked stages of perimenopause and menopause.

I pride myself on caring deeply about my patients and being approachable, accessible, and empathetic. My approach to patient care incorporates behavioral and lifestyle changes to achieve our mutually set goals and vastly improve your overall health and quality of life.

Christina Whitaker

Registered Dietician
I began my career as a registered Dietitian with my medical education in New York where I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences at Queens College. After completing my internship, I worked in an acute care hospital on nearby Long Island, extending my time on the East Coast. I quickly built my experience counseling patients with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity and/or weight management concerns.

Relocating from the east coast to San Diego motivated me to strengthen my skill set even more. I began working closely with a larger variety of patients, most of whom needed help with complex health conditions that became difficult for them to overcome due to fear. Fear of having to make intense lifestyle changes is often a large deterrent to taking nutrition seriously. As your Dietitian, I want you to make sustainable lifestyle changes that work well within your day-to-day responsibilities. We’ll establish achievable goals that keep you positive on your journey, while ensuring we maintain an individualized approach to your success.

Currently, I live in Houston, Texas, where I continue to provide patients with the care and attention they need. Through my continued commitment to helping patients improve their lives, I still feel that same level of fulfillment I did back in my early New York days.

I enjoy maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly, eating healthily, and always staying active. In my free time, I love to travel, bake, and relax at the beach with my husband, Rich, and our rescue dog, Harley. I can’t wait to meet you and connect at your first intake appointment!

Adelaida Correa

Work/life balance, corporate burnout, pandemic career crashes... for 18 years I sacrificed my happiness and health to earn a ‘great’ income. I was terrified of change. How is my story different? I discovered my passion for health coaching and empowering people. Guiding my clients to tap into their inner strength, a path of wellbeing is carved through self-love, acceptance, and empathy.

My training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (INN) in New York cemented my belief that human beings are unique. Using a personalized approach, I have had the privilege of participating in the health journey of many brave and inspiring individuals. The foundations of my practice are divided into the areas that encompass our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual realms. An additional but equally as important focus of mine is on the nutrition we consciously consume.

Bridging my knowledge and practice has allowed me to celebrate the achievements of many clients. No matter how ‘small’, transformations that bring fulfillment and joy to others grant me a sense of meaning and purpose.

I am based in Mexico City where I live with my two children, my husband and our dog. I love to exercise and explore different neighborhoods with my family. Some of our happiest moments take place around the table while sharing laughs and delicious food. Listening to podcasts and watching movies are also on my list of favorite things to do.

Kara Becker

Health Coach
Early on in my career, I knew I was happiest when I was in a role where I could help others. As a human resources professional, my favorite part of my job was helping the interns thrive in their first real work experience. Shortly following, I sought proper counseling and coaching training and transitioned into my next role as a career coach. And for many years, I helped countless students, recent grads and mid-level professionals succeed in the world of work. Along the way, I experienced some health challenges – substantial issues with infertility, difficulties managing my blood sugar, and eventually discovering I was pre-diabetic at just 30 years old. I immersed myself in the world of wellness and learned how much power we have in shaping our health outcomes, just like we do our careers. While improving my own health, I decided to solidify my knowledge with a formal certification program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and in my true passion for helping others, I added this service to my repertoire and now primarily practice as a Health Coach.

We experience the best results when we feel empowered to take matters into our own hands, whether it be our health or our career. With a little bit of education of what to do and coaching in how to make it happen, I help you to be the strongest and healthiest version of yourself. I embrace the mentality that what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another and so together, we determine what makes the most sense for you and only you.

I currently live in Long Island, New York with my husband and two children. I love taking long walks around our neighborhood, trying out new recipes, and spending time with my family.
